This is such an interesting article, Neela! I am part of the Millennial group and it was seen that if you worked yourself to the bone, you were put on a pedestal and if you didn't, you weren't worthy of praise.

And this was propagated by the dinosaurs in the office lol - thank you for always taking the time to read.

Was just talking about this with a change manager yesterday who was having to do a leadership session with a group of teams struggling with diverse views due to age, stage and beliefs. We need unity not conformity.

Thanks Neela

Well said David - Uniformity not conformity.

We grew up in different times and this alone should be a reason for healthy dialog.

Appreciate you!

As a Boomer, I can say that this is spot on and thank you for the perspective, Neela. As my generation shrinks into either retirement or into more meaningful ways to share our light, we are going to see some interesting things happen to the workforce.

Interesting is putting it mildly. The inability to work together is causing serious disengagement. Hopefully they see the light Chason.

Neela, I love the way you bring our attention to the things that needs to be changed in the workplace. This reminds me of the period when I saw my Mom really stressed out when she was back from work. She didn’t want that for me. I belong to the Millennial group but fortunately I didn’t have to comply to their ways for long. I consider I am now in a transitional phase. Let’s see where I end up. 🔆

I'm part of that Gen X crew and we propped up this system for soooo long.

I'm almost ashamed that I did.

I try to change it in a small way but truthfully it doesn't take much to change.

Self awareness - empathy - it does require some work and this is where people stumble.

Thank you Salima.
